Outlook: 54
Captain: Lukaku

My team has taken another big up haul this week with 12 points going out the window with an eye on the King Cash League cup! My thinking here is that I’m only taking 2 point hits with players who are guarenteed not to play. Even if its a shitter and all my players blank, I’ll only lose out on 6 points. And it’s a lot more fun having more players on the pitch, than watching every game from behind a sofa praying there’s no big hauls from the big guns.

In goal Tom Heaton will hopefully recover from the illness that kept him out of the last fixture. He faces Liverpool, which should result in a fair few save points. I can see Liverpool exacting some revenge after their 2-0 loss at Turf Moor earlier in the year, so I’m not expecting much here. Harry Maguire welcomes the Swans to the KCOM, where I’m hopeful he’ll finally get the attacking output his stats have been pointing towards. Swansea are free scoring lately so I doubt he’ll keep a clean sheet but he’s a good shout for bonus points even after conceding; so I’m hoping for more than a blank! The Everton duo of Baines and Coleman come back into the starting 11 against West Brom. A clean sheet here would be huge for my team so I’m praying Everton can keep it tight at the back. They’ve kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 home games so the odds are good! Prediction: 16

The first of my transfers this week was the acquisition of Coutinho. Mainly because I couldn’t afford Mane, but the little Brazilian has been threatening to deliver for weeks now so it’s only a matter of time. Saying that, I eventually buckled under a weight of logic to bring Mane into the team, doubling up on the Liverpool midfield. This is a risk, but Liverpool are the stand out team in GW28 and If I’m to take the cup home I need to go balls deep. Siggy goes to Hull where I’m confident he can keep his hot streak going. 42 points in his last 6 makes him an essential asset at the moment. Another transfer this week was Michail Antonio, after Phillips was ruled out I pulled the trigger as his GW28 fixture was the only thing keeping him in the team. Antonio is always a threat and goes up against Bournemouth who look bereft of confidence at the back. Prediction: 24

Upfront Lukaku leads the line as the stand out forward this GW. His peers all have blanks so he is the man to have and will surely top the captain polls. He has a tendency to not return when you least expect it but I’m backing him this week. Wrapping up GSL’s cup assault is another transfer Fernando Llorente. The big spaniard has been in fine form for the swans knocking in 3 in his last 2. I’m sure many will take a punt on him for this GW, hopefully he’ll repay me with tapping home a few Glyfi crosses. Prediction: 14

Captain:

The main contenders are Mane and Lukaku, however my double up on the Liverpool midfield is enough of a risk for me so I’m going for the big man.

Transfers:
A record 4 transfers and a 12 point hit shows how desperate things have got. My big point hits have rewarded me pretty well so far so I’m hoping my reckless spending will bring yeild the same results. Augero, Sterling, Phillips and Ibra all made way for Mane, Coutinho, Llorente and Antonio. I’ve hamstrung myself a little by spreading investment across my midfield, as I’ll struggle to show horn the big strikers back into the team. But I can worry about that next week!

All about the Cup this week! Hopefully 54 points will be enough and  I’ll be celebrating come Sunday afternoon!

Pray for Points, Pray for Glory.
