Points: 65 (Predicted 65, YES!!, but it still hurts..)
League: 5th
Goldenballs: Peter Crouch

Well.. That could have gone better… The first double GW of the year yielded very little for any player. The only major route to points was surprisingly the Stoke defence who kept 2 clean sheets! My big city gamble wasn’t as lucrative as I’d hoped, but it was warranted in the end. Yeidling a 12 point gain.

All the midfield brought home attacking returns! Even if it was just an assist each, they tallied a decent 15 points overall from a 3 man midfield. Upfront Lukaku grabbed a late goal to boost his credentials as a long term asset, once the blanks are done with. Even Peter Crouch popped up with an assist to help the cause and gets the goldenballs award for being a legend! No big hauls this week, but a few little contributions here and there made the week respectable.

Elsewhere all the players that I took risks on transferring out did absolutely nothing, better yet getting minus points and a ban! I aslo progressed in the Cup by the skin of my teeth with a 1 point victory! Keemon!! Unfortunately there will be no False9 final as the Letdown’s got crushed.

I toyed with the idea of placing all three of the City trio in the good section as they all came back with returns. But ultimately they weren’t enough. Sterling and Stones starting the GW well with 6 points a piece to be unceremoniously dropped for the second game.. Thanks Pep, you Fantasy Football Scrooge.. Augero also got off to a fine start with 7 points, however a blank in the stoke game left him on 9 points. 9 points is usually pretty decent, but when you’ve gone balls deep and deployed the triple captain chip it’s a waste. Granted it could be worse (Someone triple captained Ibra this week!), but from last years 70+ points hauls it seems very underwhelming.

Alonso sacrificed a clean sheet late on against West Ham, which was another kick in the balls. Coleman wasn’t expected to get a clean sheet this week but ultimately came back with 1 shitty point. Hopefully he’ll be back to his brilliant best against West Brom next week.

Overall a pretty underwhelming week. Red arrows made a comeback and I wasted my triple captain chip.. Now to navigate the tricky blanks in GW28 and prepare for the cup final! Preview to follow
