Outlook: 48

I miss the days where you could just blindly put your faith in Augero to play 90mins and score double figures week in week out. His price tag commands consistent returns, but that’s not been the case. Now he has a ‘knock’ (Thanks FPL for that useful piece of information). A doubt going into a decent game with West Ham away is that last thing I want to hear. I’m anxiously scrolling through BBC sports day looking for what Pep has to say, nothing as of yet.. Arrrgh!! Put me out of my misery!!

Elsewhere my defence is still a shambles. Calum Chamber‘s picked up a stress factor and Jonny Evans seems to have chosen cryogenics as a recovery method as he spends the 3rd GW on the trot as a slight doubt.. Come on Jonny, get your act together!

Tom Heaton welcomed the Foxes to turf moor, which I’m hopeful will return some points. I love Tom Heaton, he delivers game and game and has the best points per cost ratio by a country mile. Yes Tom! Now keep up the good work. Alonso goes to Anfield where Liverpool look to have imploded of late. I can see another Chelsea win here as Conte’s men pile more pressure onto Klopp’s unexpectedly woeful side. Baines goes to Stoke where he and Coleman will return to their ongoing points battle, shame I went for the wrong man.. Evans, if fit, goes to the Riverside where we’ll no doubt see a 0-0 and points all round. Prediction: 10 Points

Phillips will pick up a solid 3 points in the aforementioned 0-0. Eriksen going to Sunderland gets me very excited, Spurs are in great form and will no doubt be in the goals. Hopefully the Dane will be the key orchestrator, and Kane and Alli will stay quiet.. unlikely I know.. Siggy retains his place after weeks of having one foot out of the door. Last weeks shock result might give Swansea the springboard they need to kick on, and Siggy can be the catalyst for Paul Clements men and my FPL team. Most managers managed to get rid when it made logical sense, however Siggy has rewarded my faith (lack of options..) and is now a strong differential. Last weeks saviour Alexis Sanchez welcomes Watford to the Emirites. His form has been insane, and Watford have been a little lax of late and are woeful away from home. Hopefully a perfect storm for a mega points haul! Prediction: 26 Points

Upfront Zlatan leads the line against Hull. He blanked last time out, but he’s been offered a plum fixture to get back on track. Crouchie stays in the starting 11 as in form Everton come to town, my bench is piss poor so I don’t have a better option. But you never know Crouch is always a threat! Finally Augero starts up top, but only if he is declared fit tomorrow. If Pep gives me some wishy washy late fitness bullshit tomorrow I’ll be forced to get rid. I can’t risk not having 11 players on the pitch, especially one that costs 12.8m.. Prediction: 12 Points

Captain:

Has to be between Zlatan and Sanchez this week. I’m backing the Chilean as Hull have looked a lot better in recent weeks and I expect them to put up a better fight than Watford. Again relying on the little man to drag me through the GW.

Overall a pretty conservative 48 predicted.. Not feeling it this week. Although January has been full of surprises so far, so you never know. I’m a few points clear for a cash return for manager of the month so a decent return would be very handy!

Pray for Points

Sam
