After butchering my team last week to accommodate Mr Augero,  the regrets have started to seep in as I look at my shit show of a team. I got lucky last week, however my optimism is now at an all time low. Firstly I’ve already taken a 4 point hit just to guarantee 11 players on the pitch, after injuries and a certain recall of a loan player left me short.

We start at the back where Tom Heaton welcomes Southampton to Turf Moor. There is a good chance of points here as the Saints are struggling for goals and they will be flagging after their midweek triumph. Alonso goes to the champions, where I’m not confident of any returns. He’s been a wonderful fantasy asset, but his real life performances have been pretty piss poor. I can see Ake taking his place in a few weeks, but for now I have too much other shit to take care of in my team to think about swapping chelsea cover. Cedric is no more, long overdue I know.. Baines comes in for the saints man as his form has been impressive and his penalty taking duties make him a great FPL asset. He faces City this week, so little chance of a clean sheet however his fixtures after that look very appealing. Prediction: 8 Points

You may have noticed only 2 players starting at the back, I’ve decided to play the All Out Attack chip this week. It’s a pretty useless chip to be honest, not much can be gained from it, so I’m gonna use it to make sure 11 players are bringing back points.

In midfield Sanchez and Siggy go head to head at the Liberty Stadium. Sanchez‘s switch to the wing isn’t hindering his scoring with only 1 blank in his last 8 games. Siggy nicked an assist last time out, I’m hoping Paul Clement is some kind of Messiah and reignites the Icelander to his FPL best. Erisken and Phillips also go up against each other this week at White Harte Lane. Eriksen has been bang in form at home racking up 32 points in his last 3 games, so I’m hopeful he can continue bringing home the bacon. Phillips is also a player in form, however Spurs are in the groove at the moment and I can’t see much of a return. Capoue rounds of the midfield where I hope for a stellar 3 point return from the big frenchman. My midfield is very reliant on a few games being goalfests so i’ll be praying to the FPL gods for a showering of worldies. Prediction: 22 Points

Upfront I have the two FPL Goliaths in Serge and Ibra. Who will both wage war for manchester in the battle for the North West. Serge takes on the blue half when he travels to Goodison, Everton have started to pick up some form in recent weeks but City are always dangerous, no one more so than Sergio. I hope my faith in him is rewarded with a glut of goals. Ibra welcomes Liverpool, where I’m sure he’ll be in the thick of things. This should be a more open affair than the 0-0 earlier in the season, as united look to have their swagger back and will be well up for a game against a weakened Liverpool side. Now this is where it gets interesting.. In a desperate move, I sacked off big Vic, his hamstring injury threatens to keep him out for a few weeks so I’ve brought in the novelty footballer of the decade, Peter Crouch. At 4.7m he’s not a big risk and Stoke’s lack of front players mean he’s a guaranteed starter. And although delving to these FPL depths makes me feel a little grimey, it’s exciting having the big lanky legend in my team. Points from any player is great, but from him would be greeted with jubilation like never before! Prediction: 18 Points

Captain:

Having Augero in my team makes this decision easy. Having him as a differential makes it a necessity. Sanchez at Swansea could be an option but I’m sticking to my blind faith in the little Argentinian. Keeemon Serge!!

Overall predicting an average 48 points. With a bit of luck and some Augero magic that shouldn’t be a problem.

Pray for points

Sam
