Points: 42 (Predicted 43, This may mean nothing, but it give me comfort..)
League: 6th
Goldenballs: No one..

Well, that was an underwhelming game week. 42 points isn’t terrible, but its below the average and has seen me lose ground on the leaders. A captain with a 2, a midfield and strike force with no goals.. thankfully the defense turned up to make my points haul respectable.

THE GOOD

As you may expect, this will be a short section.. Pickford delivered the clean sheet I predicted and a few save points, top scoring for GSL with 8 points. I would give him the golden balls award but I’m too depressed to pick out the positives.. Alonso got his standard 6 points, I feel he needs to start upping his attacking returns playing in the advanced position with the likes of Cahill and Azpi racking up the bonus points. But i’ll take the clean sheets for now. Finally my transfer this week, Kyle Walker notched an assist. He should have been a nailed on clean sheet so attacking returns were very welcome. It does smart a little that Danny Rose got a whopping 11 points after deciding between the two for spurs defence cover, but points is points. Sanchez also popped up with an assist, however lost ground to Theo and his new coffee machine in the competition for Arsenal cover.

Elsewhere, Costa finally got that 5th yellow!!! The dark cloud hovering over the Spaniard for many FPL managers has finally been removed, making him an absolute no brainer when he returns from suspension.

THE BAD

The midfield had a mare. Hazard blanks again, he needs to find that cutting edge in the final third to get the points his performances warrant. Otherwise the temptation to move him out to afford Chelsea cover in the form of the mad dog Diego Costa will grow in temptation. Sig delivered little, but his away form has always been terrible so that was no big shock. Eriksen abruptly halted his scintillating home form, blanking against Burnley. His 19 point haul last protects him from too much heat though.

One player who is not protected is Harry Kane.. Thanks for nothing Harry. 2 games at home against Hull and Burnley had me licking my lips over huge captain hauls, but 4 points?? 4 fucking points??? What were you doing Harry!! John Walters delivered a bigger haul over the past two game weeks!! He had an absolute shocker against Hull, he was marginally better against Burnley, but played no part in any of the 5 goals scored over these games.. Terrible, absolutely terrible.. Origi and Anichebe also blanked but as cheap striking options I’m not expecting the world. Origi has done well in recent weeks and Anichebe is a bench rotter so anything is a bonus.

Elsewhere Zlatan and Costa proved they deserved the call to fill the Augero shaped hole in my team and Mane‘s last minute winner was a kick in the teeth. Overall, just bad all round.

The fixtures look a lot more promising for the upcoming week, so things can only can get better! Preview to follow.
